With many stops along the Antarctic Peninsula, this expedition will sail far to the south and attempt to cross the Antarctic Circle. This rare voyage will bring you deep into the heart of the peninsula and give you the opportunity to explore the stunning Marguerite Bay.
On board our team of lectures will provide an extensive educational program, and ashore they will lead optional walks. These ships all carry kayaks for further exploration, and some offer camping as well. Please call for details about these extra activities.

The Akademik Sergey Vavilov has an ice-strengthened hull and is powered by a 5,000 kilowatt diesel twin engine which give it a cruising speed in open water of 14.5 knots. Bow and stern thrusters provide maximum maneuverability, while a shallow draft permits passage through channels impassable by larger ships. External stabilizers and a built-in trimming system provide exceptional stability. These combined make the Vavilov quiet, exceptionally stable, and maneuverable.
